NS Healthcare Hero: Stephen Steele

“My healthcare hero is my husband Stephen Steele. He has been an advanced care paramedic for 21 years, starting his career in Baddeck and has been in Sydney Cape Breton for the last 12.

For the last 5 months, he has been a community paramedic. Stephen has always had the passion in helping others in need, volunteering with our local fire department for 25 years as a firefighter and medical first responder.

He is a facilitator and preceptor teaching paramedic students in class and on the job training. Last year he was recognized by our MLA in Parliament for all his dedication for his compassion , caring work he does in helping others. He is my hero!”
