NS Healthcare Hero: April Crowley

“I would like to nominate April Crowley and the Mental Health team at Inverness Consolidated Hospital. The Mental Health team at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital continues to operate during the pandemic. They used to offer in person visits at all of the rural hospital clinics, as well as home visits, but now have had to be creative and change their delivery methods in the current environment.

They now do phone and Zoom visits, continuing to ensure the mental wellness of the communities they serve and working collaboratively from home and office.

Until recently they were led by Charlene Murphy. The nurses on staff include April Crowley and Jennifer Matthews. Social workers include Adam Matthews, Andree Bourgeois, Mireille Bourgeois and Paula Nishi. Their administrative support is Susan Cameron-Kennedy.”
