“I would like to nominate advanced care paramedic Elias Kafrouny.

Eli has had the impact on our profession we all aspire to have. He is constantly learning, studying and positively impacting everyone around him. As someone who has learned so much from him, I can attest to the patience he show his students. His calm approach to mentorship of the many new medics entering the profession, creates a welcoming atmosphere for so many of us.

Eli shows his dedication to every Nova Scotian, every single call. Every single shift. And when he leaves work, his phone is always on. He builds these lasting relationships with people he works with. We come to him for clinical questions and debriefs.

Patients and medics alike have submitted ‘Thank You’s and accolades attesting to his commitment to providing the best care possible to every patient.

Eli puts the same commitment into his family, friendships and relationships outside of work. He has dedicated himself to the people he loves and the province he serves is full of those people. We are so lucky to have him answer the call.”
