NS Healthcare Hero: Jessica Herridge
“I’d like to nominate my best friend Jessica Herridge for the Healthcare Heroes campaign. Jessica has been a primary care paramedic in Cape Breton for almost 2 years. Jessica has dreamed of becoming a paramedic since she was a young girl and finally made that dream a reality.
She is the most dedicated, caring, and compassionate person I know, and always gives the best care possible to her patients. I see the differences she makes in each and everyone of her patients lives, every day. She is the calm in the storm that comes with bad calls, long shifts, missed lunches, and she is always seen with a bright smile on her face and a laugh to brighten anyones day she sees. She’s always thoughtful enough to stop and ask if you need a coffee, or something to eat and takes care of her friends and co-workers around her.
At only 21 years old, she amazes me every day with how knowledgeable she is and how amazing she is at her job. I can’t say enough good things about this young amazing woman and I’m so lucky to be able to call her my best friend. She’s the kind of paramedic I would hope to come to a call if anyone I know needed help. She is my healthcare hero.”
