NS Healthcare Hero: John Garth MacDonald

“I’d like to nominate or recognize John Garth MacDonald. Garth and I have been lucky enough to share a friendship for more years than I can remember.

When I met him little did I expect the lasting impact he would have on mine and my daughters lives down the road. I’m sure there are a lot of others who share this same feeling about him. He was always known for being the caring, compassionate paramedic who gave a 150%.

John Garth has a heart of gold and continues to give back. He’s known for being able to make people see that no matter how hard or bad it may seem right now, there is always hope.

It should be said that John Garth continues to share his lived experience with PTSD by speaking and presenting to professional organizations and community groups which helps to break down the stigma associated with this injury.”
