NS Healthcare Hero: Michelle Haddad

“I am nominating my daughter, Michelle Haddad for the Healthcare Hero Award. Michelle is a Primary Care Paramedic who served 1.5 years in Sydney and the last 8 years in Halifax. Michelle’s drives 45 minutes every shift to her home base in Hubbards in all weather conditions and has rarely missed a shift which is evidence of dedication and work ethic.

Michelle has a wonderful personality and approach entering each situation. She is compassionate and sensitive to each patients situation and strives to ease their fears and see past the uniform. Ongoing learning and confidence in her skills make Michelle an outstanding paramedic, someone a patient would want to see in an emergency.

At the onset of COVID, when so much was unknown and protocols changed daily, Michelle’s bravery, dedication and commitment never wavered working long hours through a frightening time for everyone. As with all paramedics at the time she took extraordinary measures to care for her patients, ensure their safety and that of her fellow paramedics and colleagues.”
