NS Healthcare Hero: Gwen Savage

“I would like to nominate my friend, Gwen Savage. Gwen has worked at Glen Haven Manor in New Glasgow for many years, starting as a CCA and now working in the recreation department. Gwen is so full of life, happiness and love, she brings joy to the people she works with every day. From wearing mismatched socks or shoes, to bring a smile to someone’s face, to dancing and singing with the residents, she does her very best to make people happy everyday.

During the pandemic, she spends a great deal of her day helping the residents see their family members through FaceTime, and helping to do anything needed to help. I believe that the Recreation Department is so important at any time, but especially during a time when residents cannot see their loved ones in person. They make sure to do all they can to help fill the day with fun, entertainment and love, and Gwen is the perfect example of a Recreation Programmer.”
