NS Healthcare Hero:
NS Healthcare Hero: Justin MacCulloch
I would like to anonymously nominate Justin MacCulloch. Justin has been a paramedic in Pictou County for 21 years. Hes also the proud father of 2 handsome sons and a beautiful daughter, and the spouse of a pretty amazing ER nurse.
When Justin isnt busy working as a paramedic or spending time with his family, he can be found running calls, helping out with events, or putting on training for the Trenton Fire Department where he has been a volunteer firefighter for over 7 years. He is also a captain and training officer for Trenton Fire Department. Prior to joining Trenton, Justin was a volunteer firefighter for 19 years with Thorburn Fire Department. Its not hard to tell that Justin is passionate about helping other people and thats just one part of what makes him such a great medic.
In his 21 years as a paramedic, Justin has shown up for so many people on their worst days, in their worst moments, and gave it his all to save lives. He has held the hands of many, dressed numerous wounds, taken many sets of vitals, reassured countless patients and their families, treated many people of all ages, and has witnessed things most of us couldnt even bear to imagine. Being a paramedic, especially with all the operational obstacles this day and age is incredibly demanding both physically and mentally. Despite that thought, Justin still shows up day in and day out and pours his heart and soul into his work as a medic. He takes so much pride in being a paramedic.
EHS is very lucky to have Justin working for them. Although he is extremely humble and doesnt like to give himself any credit for all that he does, Justin really is one of the best medics around and he more than deserves the credit and recognition.
